  • Gary Berman

    Gary Berman is the Founder and CEO of ARE Retail Management LLC (ARE) a position he has held since 2011. ARE specialises in providing Retailers consulting services from concept creation , brand design or transformation, real estate strategy, store opening, MIS & IT, digital marketing & social media, reporting, accounting, HR, organisational strategy & training, fund raising, licensing, acquisitions & joint ventures.

    Through ARE, EDG and Berman Investments, Gary Berman has driven the numerous businesses.
    Prior to ARE he was CEO of Ed Hardy Asia, Europe and set up the business from scratch overseeing the incredible growth over 4 years. Ed Hardy was profitable from year 1. He was primarily responsible for the Store growth and personally oversaw the creation of 25 stores as well as store within stores in 6 countries.

    Gary started his career at Warner Bros as VP International Operations and Planning at WHV. He oversaw the opening of 30 countries hiring Managing Directors, Financial Directors for each country, including setting up distribution and manufacturing. After Warner Bros he was appointed CFO and Board member of Gandel Retail Trust (later acquired by Colonial First State) and converted a family run business into a large Public Company. He oversaw the creation of a REIT and Public Offering. As CEO he has overseen the establishment of Warner Bros Stores, Blockbuster (Australia), and worked with top public companies such as Village Roadshow, Westfield, Nine Networks and Priceline.

    Prior to Ed Hardy he founded EDG Entertainment Development Group creating Interactive Entertainment venues, licensed venues, restaurants and retail stores. He built the business from scratch and sold part of the business to Macquarie Bank for $ 14 million in 2007.         Gary Berman - BCom, BAcc, MBA, CA (SA)

    At ARE we have created dozens of totally original Retail and Entertainment businesses and implemented 100’s of Branded venues.

    We offer concept design, architectural plans, interior design, signage design, project management, product planning, product design and sourcing, real estate planning, lease negotiations, pre opening services and hiring and training the right team to open, implement and successfully manage the venue or store.

    We provide training manuals and train the trains to rehire and train as normal attrition occurs.
